after abandonment of my blog, something worth posting. for quite a while i have been in awe of brian viveros' paintings. i am always a fan of a guy who loves women with dark hair. better yet he idolizes these women, bleeds them dry and then sticks a cigarette in their mouth.
his studio is a mash up of mannequins, fake blood, bandages and beer. oh how i love him.
he captures the girl i've always wanted to be.

i would say about half of my closet is clothing from the men's section. while women's clothing runs the entire range from flowy to latex, rocker to peasant, menswear constantly maintains that perfect structured silhouette without seeming too pretentious or overdone. their tanks and tees are always the softest cotton and feels as if theyve been worn and washed a million times. and for some reason men's super skinny levis fit me like a glove.

i was ecstatic to find a designer who shares that same love of menswear. katie eary is a super young and super amazing designer from britain. (shes only 25 and has the eye for impeccable tailoring!) she combines formal menswear, ostentatious military wear, pageantry and streetwear into her line. i would love to raid her boyfriend's closet.

i have seemed to abandon my blog. its been almost a month now and nothing. it actually saddens me.
it seems that fashion [as of right now] isn't inspiring me so much.

i can't fit another item in my closet, another pair of shoes on my shelves, or another piece of jewelry in my boxes.
i need something new to wake me up.
i feel like i've just been seeing the same pieces over and over again.
balmain trend...been there done that.
black, leather, and studs...my current life.
color?...im good but thanks.
rompers and one-pieces? now that forever 21 probably has them on every mannequin,
im putting mine to the back of my closet.

maybe i'm being cynical...or maybe i just need a shopping spree to fund my lack of confidence in
the current state. my friends and i often laugh at our "doug funny" wardrobes. i feel as if i am
constantly in the same variation of the outfit i wore yesterday. leggings swapped for stockings,
black skinny jeans swapped for black super skinny jeans, oversized tank swapped for tighter
tank with vest, constant massive amounts of jewelry.

project runway has since been picked up by lifetime. in it's place bravo has it's new show called (how terribly original..) the fashion show.
isaac mizrahi, who clearly is just a media whore, and kelly rowland are the hosts.
who decided that an ousted member of a girl group is fit to determine whether the designers are worthy of a fashion line?
i'm sorry but didn't you wear three seperate outfits cut from the same sequined, lame, over-embellished cloth?
anywho! the show itself sucked and i will admit i went in with the idea that it would because it was trying so desperately hard to be a project runway spinoff.
during a climatic moment in the show kelly reveals to one of the designers after her
dress was modeled on the runway that an audience member called her dress.....

"sexy and sleek."

OMG! really? and girl did kelly deliver that line as if she was telling someone
they just won a million dollars.

i (along with many others) share a great love for polaroids. that little white box has the ability to capture mundane occurrences, amazing parties, and lazy days all with an air of nostalgia and beauty. i am intrigued by every image i come across that is encapsulated in these squares. the polaroid itself gives photos a dream-like quality and automatically takes me to the "good old days" even if the photo developed only 45 seconds ago.

this guy gets it. his photos are raw, ironic, and controversial. the combo of this and the little white box sends me over the edge.

its no surprise i love overly bold and junky jewelry. what will surprise you is that most of my pieces are quite structural and streamlined. leather cuffs, resin and spiked bracelets, long chain necklaces, and huge stone rings.

i think i appreciate loud jewelry more than i would wear it. as i have said before it reminds me of art and i am blown away by the ability to transform string and chains into a masterpiece. however, whenever i buy a piece that is outside of my comfort zone i feel "too girly". my friends get sick of me that i say this all the time and they immediately remind me "BUT YOU ARE A GIRL!"

i avoid prints at all costs and stray from anything that lacks structure. you wouldn't catch me dead in "long and billowy"

these pieces have the perfect blend of masculine and feminine. the barbed wire and zippers immediately drew me in.

the old 90s friendship bracelet remastered with some old chains and leather barbed wire is genius. i want to hand them out to friends pretending as if i make the coolest friendship on the block.

this time around i kinda want boys to be allowed in our club.

so last night was my best friend myke's birthday. he'll get upset if i tell you how old he turned. i really want this. im not into nylon-y materials at all (cheap and tacky) but im intrigued by this one. supposedly its a bikini coverup but i would be rocking this day and night. it seems pretty versatile with its buttons, hood,and especially because its completely open in the back. its called the apron dress and its under $50 (and soon to be mine).
